Differences in Development is designed to explore and explain the Level 2 NCEA Achievement Standard Demonstrate geographic understanding of differences in development. This up-to-date resource explores development in both global and localised settings, using a range of case studies and geography concepts. Incorporated throughout the book are geographic skills and differentiated activities that cover the fundamental aspects of the standard and also extend students with social inquiry and key competency tasks. Product Information

Sarah Wakeford has been a geography teacher for 11 years and has travelled extensively through many developing countries.  She has lived in Tanzania, where she taught environmental education in secondary schools, and has recently returned from Laos, where she taught English in a rural village.  As a member of the Auckland Geography Teachers Association, Sarah produced a CD Rom called 'Development in Tanzania'.  She is currently undertaking a Masters of Applied Humanities at AUT with a focus on tourism in developing countries.
